About 

Laura Boomsma graduated with a Bachelors degree from Minerva Art Academy in Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands. She also has a Bachelors degree in Visual Art Therapy. And a Masters degree in Art Education, MEd. 

She teaches art classes at a private art academy in Leeuwarden; Kunstacademie Friesland, and works as a teacher-researcher at Minerva Art Academy. She is affiliated with the Art & Sustainability Research Center at the Hanzehogeschool in Groningen. Laura develops art-education projects that explore the relationship between art & technology, and human interaction with the natural environment. 

In her artwork she likes to incorporate textiles, embroidery and natural materials. Exploring this inbetween-space, the space or moment of suprise and bewilderment, of not-knowing, that lies between technology, human interaction and nature.
